Title:
VALVE LEAKAGE CHECKING APPARATUS RELATED TO SAFETY OF ANTILOCK DEVICE FOR ROAD VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2717460
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To surely detect leakage from non-return valves provided in an antilock device for a street vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: Brake pressure is controlled depending on variations in the volumes of output pressure spaces 22, 23 in pressure modulators 24, 26 connected to wheel brakes 12, 13. Control pressure spaces 37, 38 in the pressure modulators are connected to an auxiliary pressure source 43 via inlet control valves 39, 41 and non-return valves 51, 52 and to a reservoir 47 via outlet control valves 44, 46. During antilock control, the output pressure spaces 22, 23 are blocked off from a braking hydraulic pressure generator 14 by functional control valves 48, 49. A test valve 83 or 83' temporarily connects the output outlet 42 of the auxiliary pressure source 43 to the reservoir 47 to reduce pressure. Movement of modulator pistons 32, 33 resulting from this pressure reduction is detected by position sensors 72, 76 and used to determine whether or not the non-return valves 51, 52 are leaking.
