Abstract:
To reduce the wall thickness of a slide part in comparison with a pressure bearing portion of a valve lifter in order to obtain the valve lifter easily machinable and lightweight.
In this cup-shaped valve lifter comprising the cylindrical slide part and the pressure bearing portion provided on an end thereof, the outer circumference of a cup-shaped article semi-produced by drawing a stock plate is ironed to reduce the wall thickness of the slide part, and the wall thickness of the portion is considerably thinner than that of the pressure bearing portion.
