Title:
VALVE SEAT MADE OF FE-BASED SINTERED ALLOY EXCELLENT IN WEAR RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3275729
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve seat made of an Fe-based sintered alloy as the structural member of an internal combustion engine excellent in wear resistance.
SOLUTION: This valve seat is the one having a total compsn. contg., by weight, 0.5 to 2% C, 0.05 to 1% Si, 8 to 16% Co, 2 to 8% Cr, 1.5 to 6% Mo, 1.5 to 6% W, 0.5 to 2% Ni, 0.05 to 1% Nb, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, having a structure in which, in the stock of the alloy steel, high temp. wear resistant Co base alloy hard grains A composed of a Co-Mo-Cr seres alloy and cold temp. wear resistant Cr base alloy hard grains B composed of a Cr-W-Co-Fe series alloy are dispersedly distributed in the ratio of 6 to 26 area% in total, furthermore, composed of an Fe base sintered alloy, and, if required, composed of the one obtd. by infiltrating this with copper, copper alloys, lead or lead alloys.
