Title:
VALVE SEAT MADE OF IRON-BASE SINTERED ALLOY EXCELLENT IN WEAR RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3312585
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve seat made of Fe-base sintered alloy excellent in wear resistance and used as a structural member for an internal combustion engine.
SOLUTION: The valve seat is constituted of an Fe-base sintered alloy having an overall composition consisting of, by weight, 0.5-2% C, 0.05-1% Si, 8-16% Co, 2-8% Cr, 1.5-6% Mo, 1.5-6% W, 0.5-2% Ni, 0.05-1% Nb, 1-15% CaF2, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, having a structure where hard grains A of high temp. wear resistant Co-base alloy composed of Co-Mo-Cr alloy and hard grains B of ordinary temp. wear resistant Cr-base alloy composed of Cr-W-Co-Fe alloy are dispersedly distributed in the matrix of an alloy steel by 6-26 area % in total and further CaF2 grains are dispersedly distributed similarly by 3-45 area %, and also having 5-25% porosity. Further, this Fe-base sintered alloy is infiltrated with copper or copper alloy or lead or lead alloy, if necessary.
