Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve stem seal wherein the tension force of a seal lip to a valve stem is increased without using a spring.
SOLUTION: As shown in Fig. 1(b), a sub lip 3 obtains force F1 pressed in outer radial direction at a power point where the sub lip 3 comes into contact with a valve stem, converts the force F1 whereby the sub lip is pressed in outer radial direction through a pivot C, and obtains force F2 to press the seal lip 2 against the valve stem at the power point where the seal lip 2 comes into contact with the valve stem. Thus, the tension of the seal lip 2 to the valve stem is increased without using a spring to maintain the durability for following performance of the seal lip 2.
