PURPOSE: To make fine adjustment of valve opening pressure possible, to unify damping force characteristics of respective liquid pressure dampers, and to obtain the most suitable damping force characteristics by providing adjusting members for adjusting spring setting loads of valve springs outside the valve springs.

CONSTITUTION: Respective adjusting members 17, 18 are turned to right and left directions via respective male and female thread parts 2c, 17a, 4a, 18a by means of appointed jigs, while measuring valve opening pressures of disc valves 11, 12, and moved in the axial direction of a piston rod 2. On the extension side, for instance, a large diameter part 20 of the extension side adjusting member 18 presses the outer peripheral side end surface part of an extension side valve spring 14, and makes the outer peripheral part bend and deform inward by making the outer peripheral edge of a small diameter disc plate 12b as a fulcrum. Spring set loads of respective valve springs 13, 14 are possible to be set to optional and desired set loads hereby. Therefore, fine adjustment of bending rigidity of disc valves 11, 12, which receive spring set loads that is, the valve opening pressure for respective passages 5, 6.
