Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve engine output with the selection of cams over a wide rotational frequency region by inserting a first rocker arm directly in a rocker shaft while inserting second and third rocker arms in an eccentric large diameter part formed on the rocker shaft. CONSTITUTION:A rocker shaft 11 is provided parallel to a cam shaft 6 provided with a low speed cam 3 and medium and high speed cams 4, 5, and respective supports 7a, 9a of a low speed rocker arm 7 and medium and high speed rocker arms 8, 9 are inserted in the rocker shaft 11. Then, the tip of the low speed rocker arm 7 is bifurcated and both bifurcated tips 7b are adapted to abut against stem heads of valves 1, 2 and the support 7a is out-fitted directly to the rocker shaft 11, while the supports 8a, 9a of the medium and high speed rocker arms 8, 9 are rotatably out-fitted to the rocker shaft 11 through eccentric bushings 12, 13 as eccentric large diameter parts, and a bushing pin 10 is inserted in a pin inserting hole 22 to be fixed to the rocker shaft 11.
