Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce friction loss by providing low and high speed lost motion springs which energize low and high speed cams in opposite directions, and setting an energizing force of the low speed motion spring larger than that of the high speed motion spring. CONSTITUTION:Arm parts 40, 41 are formed on a low speed rocker arm 34 and a high speed rocker arm 35, and low/high speed lost motions 42, 43 are applied thereto. The lost motions 42, 43 have substantially similar structures, but other spring specifications than compression springs 46a, 46b. An energizing force of the compression spring 46a of the low speed lost motion 42 is set larger than that of the compression spring 46b of the high speed lost motion 43. Friction is thus reduced without application of excessive force.
