Abstract:

PURPOSE:To improve the durability of an end pivot by equalizing at two points where the lift-speed of an intake-exhaust valve becomes maximum the heaviness of a lateral load added to the shaft-right angle-direction of the end pivot from a rocker arm. CONSTITUTION:An angle theta which is formed with a line Dcr linking a cam center Oc to a rocker arm's rocking-fulcrum Or and the center shaft of an end pivot is set so that the heaviness of a lateral load added to the shaft-right angle-direction of the end pivot 2 from the rocker arm 3 may become equal at two points where the lift-speed of an intake-exhaust valve 4 at a time of lift increase and at a time of lift decrease becomes maximum. By this, the maximum value of the lateral load occurring in the reverse direction at the end pivot 2 may be decreased as much as possible, and the durability of the end pivot 2 may be heightened.
