Abstract:
To provide an improved means for mounting and connecting a vapor vent valve to a module flange so as to minimize possibility of emission.
A valve assembly 30 is attached directly to the bottom side of the fuel pump module flange 10 within the interior volume of the fuel tank 20. When rising fuel exerts a force for pushing the float assembly 40 upwards, the valve head 42 attached to the float assembly 40 directly seals a valve seat 11 on the underside of the modular flange 10, covering the vapor release aperture 15 located through the flange, and preventing fuel from escaping through the vent aperture 15.
