Title:
VAPORIZED FUEL TREATING DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3444006
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the occurrence of deterioration of an adsorption layer while the the rapid fluctuation of an amount of vaporized fuel purged in an intake passage is blocked.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel tank 16 is connected to first and second vapor chambers 14 and 14' coupled to each other. The first vapor chamber 14 is coupled to an adsorption layer 4' through a first pressure control valve 12 and a vapor guide 8. The second vapor chamber 14' is coupled to a vapor diffusion chamber 3, arranged on one side of the adsorption layer 4', through a second pressure control valve 10. The opening pressure of the first pressure control valve 12 is determined to a value higher than that of the second pressure control valve 10. An amount of vaporized fuel guided from the fuel tank 16 to a canister 15 is comparatively low. When the second pressure control valve 10 is opened with the first pressure control valve 12 closed, the vaporized fuel is purged in an intake passage 1a not through the adsorption layer 4'. When an amount of the vaporized fuel guided to the canister 15 is increased and the first pressure control valve 12 is opened, the vaporized fuel is guided to the adsorption layer 4' through the vapor guide 8.
