Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable-capacitance capacitor capable of achieving a large change in variable capacitance.SOLUTION: The variable-capacitance capacitor includes: a dielectric material having a state where a phase of a high dielectric constant and a phase of a low dielectric constant exist in the vicinity of a phase transition temperature; an electrode pair formed on a face opposed to the dielectric material; and a temperature controller for controlling a temperature of the dielectric material. The temperature controller changes electrostatic capacitance by holding the dielectric material at a temperature more than the phase transition temperature of the dielectric material, changing intensity of an electric field to be applied to the dielectric material by the electrode pair and changing a ratio of the phase of the high dielectric constant to the phase of the low dielectric constant.
