Abstract:
To provide a variable capacitor and an electronic device, having a structure enabling setting of field sensitivity with respect to a control voltage irrespective of a breakdown voltage with respect to a signal voltage.
The variable capacitor is constituted of a pair of signal electrodes 3, provided so as to sandwich a dielectric layer 4, and a pair of control electrodes 2, provided to sandwich the dielectric layer 4 so as to generate a control electric field in a direction intersecting with the signal electric field generated between the signal electrodes 3. Further, the electronic device employs the variable capacitor.
