Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable capacitor that allows increasing the variable range of adjustable capacitance while reducing the range of change in the capacitance according to change in a rotational angle of the variable capacitor.SOLUTION: A variable capacitor 10 includes: a stator 21 having a stator-side electrode 15; and a rotor 41 having rotor-side electrodes 42 and 43 facing the stator-side electrode 15, and rotatably held with respect to the stator 21. A first capacitor portion is formed by facing the stator-side electrode 15 and the rotor-side electrodes 42 and 43. The variable capacitor 10 is configured connectable to a second capacitor portion. The first capacitor portion and the second capacitor portion can be connected in parallel. The capacitance of the first capacitor portion changes according to the rotational angle of the rotor. The variable capacitor includes a switching portion 30 for switching on and off of the parallel connection of the second capacitor portion and the first capacitor portion.
