Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable compression ratio internal combustion engine which is advantageous in avoiding changes in piston offset amount or an increase of weight and inertia weight.SOLUTION: A variable compression ratio internal combustion engine includes: at least one cylinder 10; a piston 1 stored in the cylinder so as to reciprocate and slide; a crank shaft 2 which has a crank pin 21 corresponding to the piston; a connecting rod 3 rotatably coupled to the crank pin at a large end 32; a rocking member 4 which is angle-displaceably couped to the piston through a piston pin 11, and is angle-displaceably coupled to a small end 31 of the connecting rod by a first coupling portion 41 at a different axis position from the piston pin; a moving rod 5 which is angle-displaceably coupled to the rocking member 4 at a tip end 52 by a second coupling portion 42 at a different axis position from the first coupling portion 41, and is provided with a base end 51 so as to be displaceable to the connecting rod 3; and drive means for displacing the moving rod 5 with respect to the connecting rod 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
