Abstract:
PURPOSE: To vary revolving resistance to a revolving member, that is, damping factor of a vibration isolation device and a characteristic period by applying revolving resistance corresponding to viscosity of electric viscous fluid to the revolving member, and varying voltage applied between electrodes, that is, voltage applied to the electric viscous fluid.
CONSTITUTION: A variable damping vibration isolation device has a laminated rubber 3 fixing one end side to the foundation 2 and installing an upper building 4 on the other end side and a damper 9, and the damper 9 is fixed to the foundation 2 and, at the same time, a casing 13 providing an electrode 16 to the inside thereof, a wire 6 extended to the upper building 4, and a revolving member 21 winding the wire 6 thereon and, at the same time, providing an electrode 22 to the outside borne on the casing 13 in a rotatable manner are provided to the variable damping vibration isolation device. An electric viscous fluid 23 having a viscosity controlled by applied voltage is sealed in the casing 13.
