PURPOSE: To protect bearing elements and reduce vibration and noise by fitting the lug plate of a compressor in the aligning floatable state to a driving shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A variable displacement compressor is provided with a front housing 3 with a crank chamber 2 formed inside so as to close the front end of a cylinder block l and to support a driving shaft 8 through radial bearings 9, 10 jointly with the cylinder block 1, a lug plate 12 fitted in the synchronously rotatable state to the driving shaft 8 in the crank chamber 2 so as to collide with the inner wall of the front housing 3 through a thrust bearing 20, and a single head piston 17 direct-acting in a bore 1a in linkage with a cam plate element connected to the lug plate 12 through hinge mechanism so as to slide on the driving shaft 8 in such a way as to be displaceable in inclination. The lug plate 12 is fitted in the aligning floatable state to the driving shaft 8 so as to prevent the damage and wear of the bearing elements and to reduce vibration and noise.
