Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform reliable oscillation of the cam ring of a variable displacement vane pump, stabilize number of revolutions-feed flow rate characteristics, and reduce a drive horse power and the generation of pulsation and noise on the discharge side.
SOLUTION: First and second hydraulic chambers 43 and 44 are formed on both sides of an oscillatory cam ring 27. A control valve 40 is provided to control oscillation of the cam ring and a variable metering restriction 61 is situated midway of a passage on the discharge side to work the control valve. The variable metering restriction 61 consists of a communication groove 62 recessed in the side on one side in an axial direction of the cam ring and communicating with the opening 33 on the discharge side of a pump chamber formed in a pressure plate 30 positioned facing the side part, and a hole part 63 opened fronting on the communication groove in the pressure plate 30 and adjustable of an opening area by the groove side edge 62a of the communication groove along with oscillation of the cam ring.
