To reduce a pv-value at a slide part under high pressure and high rotation, and achieve high power density by disposing a piston to be conically inclined to a cylinder block in such a way that an axial center of a cylinder bore crosses with an axial center of a rotation shaft on the side of a swash plate.
A piston 7 is disposed to be conically inclined to a cylinder block 5 in such a way that an axial center of a cylinder bore 6 crosses with an axial center of a rotation shaft 2 on the side of a swash plate 11, so a pv-value (p: surface pressure, v: slide speed) between the cylinder block 5 and the piston 7, and between the swash plate 11 and a slipper 8 is reduced. In this constitution, force applied to a starting end part of the cylinder bore 6 by lateral partial force of the piston 7 can be reduced in accordance with an inclination angle of the piston 7. A piston stroke is thus increased to provide reduction effect of resultant force of the piston lateral partial force more clearly in accordance with inclination of the swash plate 11. Surface pressure at a slide part between the cylinder block 5 and the piston 7 can therefore be reduced.
