PURPOSE: To realize a movable swash plate itself at a low cost further with assembly facilitated by reducing slide resistance of the movable swash plate, and improving resetting performance to a neutral attitude of the movable swash plate, in a variable displacement type axial piston machine.
CONSTITUTION: In a constitution in which a support member is arranged to be opposed to a back surf ace of a movable swash plate 8, and a protrusive circular arc surface R formed in a back surface of the movable swash plate 8 is brought into contact with a thrust metal, fixed onto a recessed circular arc surface formed in the support member, and slid, a surface layer having high surface roughness and high slidability is formed in the protrusive circular arc surf ace R of the movable swash plate 8.
