Abstract:
To provide a variable field rotary electric machine in which rotary electric machine characteristics can be adjusted, while restraining increase in the weight, the cost, and the size.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine 1 includes a rotor 20 having a rotor core 21 provided rotatably about the axis line O, and multiple permanent magnets attached to the rotor core 21. In the rotor core 21, a storage slot 29 extending in the axial direction of the axis line O, and a movable core 31 placed in the storage slot 29, and movable in the axial direction are formed. The rotary electric machine 1 further includes a movable core movement mechanism 50 for moving the movable core 31 along the axial direction from a prescribed position, by centrifugal-force incident to rotation of the rotor core 21, and forming a magnetic space 33 in the storage slot 29.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
