To lower the cost and to reduce noise to the output as to the variable gain amplification device which has its gain switched to different values when an input bias voltage is inputted and when the signal having an input signal superposed on the input bias voltage is inputted.
The gain of the whole variable gain amplification device is 0dB when switches 6 and 10 is turned on and a gain determined by the capacity ratio of capacitors 4 and 13 when the switches 6 and 10 is turned off. The gain that a differential amplifier 14 takes charge of is determined by the capacity ratio of capacitors 4 and 5 and total negative feedback operates so that an operational amplifier 11 takes charge of the remaining gain. The total gain of the differential amplifier and operational amplifier is smaller than that when two operational amplifies are use. Consequently, the capacity of a capacitor required to secure the phase margin for preventing oscillation may be small and the manufacture cost is lowered. When the switch 6 is turned on first, noise at off time is amplified substantially only by the differential amplifier, so a shift in output level due to the noise is reduced.
