Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable intake device for an internal combustion engine, in which a troubleshooting is performed without adding any new part and in which the internal combustion engine is prevented from any trouble at a failure determination time by restricting an air quantity.SOLUTION: A variable intake device (28) comprises: pressure deviation detecting means (45) for detecting an intake pipe pressure in an intake passage (19), which occurs at the timing to switch the full open and the full close of a control valve (39); and failure determination means (51) for deciding the failure of the control valve (39) in the case where the absolute value of the detection result of the pressure deviation detecting means (45) is at or lower than a predetermined value.
