Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the lowering of the rigidity of a connecting rod main body accompanied by the formation of an oil passage of a lubricant, in a variable length connecting rod which is changeable in an effective length by turning an eccentric member.SOLUTION: A variable length connecting rod 6 comprises an eccentric member 32 in which a piston pin receiving opening 32d is formed, and a connecting rod main body 31 having a large-diameter end part 31a in which a crank receiving opening 41 for receiving a crank pin 22 is formed, and a small-diameter end part 31b in which an eccentric member receiving opening 42 for receiving the eccentric member is formed. The eccentric member turns between a first position and a second position so as to change a length between a center of the piston pin receiving opening and a center of the crank receiving opening. Only one lubricant hole 311 for making the outside of the connecting rod main body and the eccentric member receiving opening communicate with each other is formed at the small-diameter end part, and penetration paths 321, 322 for making the lubricant hole and the piston pin receiving opening communicate with each other when at least the eccentric member is in the first position or the second position are formed at the eccentric member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
