PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a mechanism for switching a flow of a working fluid to a hydraulic piston mechanism, in a variable-length connecting rod having the hydraulic piston mechanism.SOLUTION: A variable-length connecting rod 6 comprises: a connecting rod main body 31; an eccentric member 32; a hydraulic cylinder 33a; a hydraulic piston 33b; a check valve 70; a changeover mechanism 80; and a hydraulic mechanism 34a. The check valve permits a flow of a working fluid to a secondary side from a primary side of the check valve, and prohibits the flow of the working fluid to the primary side from the secondary side. The changeover mechanism comprises one changeover pin 81, and the changeover pin is accommodated in a pin accommodation space 47. First oi passages 51, 52, a second oil passages 53, 54, third oil pump passages 56, 58 and fourth oil passages 55, 57 are formed at the connecting rod main body. The changeover pin is switched between a first position in which the first oil passages are made to penetrate the fourth oil passages, and the second oil passages are made to penetrate the third oil passages, and a second position in which the first oil passages are made to penetrate the third oil passages, and the second oil passages are made to penetrate the fourth oil passages.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
