To solve a problem that, in a conventional projector type headlight, an amount of movement of a shade gets large in order to effect a low-beam light distribution and a running light distribution in switching, and accordingly, a mechanism for moving the shade takes a large space.
A major axis X of an elliptic system reflective face 2 is arranged in a vertical direction with a light source at an upper part, and at the same time, a light axis Y of a projection lens 3 is made to cross the major axis X in the vicinity of a second focus of the elliptic system reflective face, while, a main reflective face and a sub reflective face are provided which are movable and capable of varying irradiation directions against reflective light from the elliptic system reflective face crossing at a crossing point of the major axis and the light axis, so that, by moving the sub reflective face alone, a low-beam light distribution can be obtained with a small movement volume, realizing large-scale downsizing of a movement mechanism.
