Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a variable luminous-intensity distribution headlamp device in which a large quantity of light in the steering direction can be obtained.

CONSTITUTION: This lighting device comprising a main reflector 10, a bulb arranged in the inner part of the main reflector 10 in such a manner that a filament is positioned in the focal point of the main reflector, and a sub-reflector 12 arranged aside from the bulb within a vertical plane containing the above- mentioned focal point so as to be rotatable around the vertical axis passing through the focal point. The sub-reflector 12 is interlocked with the steering to be rotated, ands a part of light beam from a lamp is reflected by the sub- reflector to perform the lighting in the steering direction. Thereby, since the lighting in the steering direction is performed with light from the lighting fixture units on both sides of a vehicle, and the light of the largest quantity of light in the vicinity of the filament can be utilized, the quantity of light is large, the sub-reflector is sealed up and protected from a stain and a mischief, and therefore large quantity of light can be always maintained.
