Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain variable power type binoculars whose operation is easy even when an observer is a right-handed person or a left-handed person by respectively and independently operating and turning operating members and putting the turning shaft of the operating member on the same axial line.
SOLUTION: A variable power operating knob, a focusing knob 183 and a diopter difference adjusting knob are arranged on the same axial line at the upper part of binoculars. When the knob 183 is operated and rotated, a 1st driving part 181 is moved in an optical axis direction and a left arm 185 and a right arm 186 are moved in the axial direction. By moving both arms 185 and 186, 1st lens frames 131 and 141 left and right are moved in the optical axis direction so as to execute focusing. By operating and rotating the diopter difference adjusting knob, the screw part 182b of a 2nd driving part 182 is turned through a driving shaft 187, and a head part 182c is moved in the optical axis direction, so that only the right arm 186 is moved in the optical axis direction. Namely, the right 1st lens frame 141 is moved in the optical axis direction and the adjustment of diopter difference between right and left is executed.
