Abstract:
To reduce a forming voltage applied to form a through-hole in a metal oxide material, without making the leakage current increase.
A variable resistor 1 includes an electrode 11, an electrode 12, and a metal oxide material disposed in between the electrode 11 and electrode 12, and the electrical resistance for the variable resistor 1 between the electrode 11 and the electrode 12 varies reversibly, according to the voltage applied between the electrode 11 and the electrode 12. The metal oxide material includes a resistor 14, which is separated from at least either of the electrode 11 and the electrode 12 and has resistance lower than resistance of the metal oxide material.
