Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve conversion of a pressure utilizable by a combustion process into work.SOLUTION: A fluid flow machine has a casing including a cylinder and a crank shaft supporting portion. A piston is slidably disposed in the cylinder to be reciprocated along a shaft of the cylinder. The crank shaft includes a main bearing journal rotatably supported at the crank shaft supporting portion, a crank pin 22 radially displaced from the shaft of the main bearing journal, and a crank web connecting the main bearing journal and the crank pin. A multi-coupling connection rod mechanism 208 is connected between the piston and the crank pin, and includes a connection rod, a first hinge connection portion, and a crank pin connection portion 40 pivotally connected to each other. In a power transmission mechanism, the multi-coupling connection rod mechanism is connected to the casing to transmit piston force in a vertical direction to force of the crank pin in a horizontal direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 26
