This variable speed moving walk is furnished with a support roller row 10 consisting of a plural number of horizontal driving rollers 11 to be respectively rotationally driven around their shaft centers as their centers and an endless belt 16 supported by this support roller row and to endlessly move by its rotation. The support roller row consists of an accelerating roller row 12, a high speed roller row 13 and a decelerating roller row 14, and rotational speed of the horizontal driving rollers respectively gradually increases from low speed and gradually decreases down to specified high speed and low speed. Additionally, the endless belt 16 is devised to easily extend and contract in the moving direction but to hardly extend and contract in the cross direction, and it extends and contracts in the moving direction in accordance with rotational speed of the horizontal driving rollers.
