Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide resolution improved of a control shaft 16 for finely adjusting an intake air amount under a setting condition of a small valve lift characteristic used in an idling condition or the like.
SOLUTION: By driving a control shaft 16 rotated by a drive part 30, an operating angle and a valve lift amount of an intake valve are continuously changed. The drive part 30 has a transmission mechanism 32 boosting drive force transmitted to the control shaft 16 from a motor 31 (drive source). An amplification factor is changed in accordance with an angle of the control shaft 16 (amplification factor change mechanism) so as to increase the amplification factor of the drive force when a prescribed small valve lift characteristic is set.
