This variable velocity water supply device is provided with a flow-in pipe connected to a piping 11, a pressure pump 13 connected to the flow-in pipe, a discharge pipe connected to a discharge side of the pressure pump 13, a flow-in pressure detecting unit 21 provided in the flow-in pipe to detect the flow-in pressure Ps of the pressure pump 13, a discharge pressure detecting unit 23 provided in the discharge pipe to detect the discharge pressure Pd of the pressure pump 13, and a control means 22 for controlling the pump 13. The control means 22 controls operation of the pressure pump 13 by using the flow-in pressure Ps when the pump is stopped at a small quantity of water.
