Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve drivability in a carburetor which assumes a feedback control by a step of controlling a bleed air quantity based on an oxygen sensor by adjusting the maximum value of the air bleed quantity depending on engine temperature.

CONSTITUTION: A solenoid valve 48 provided to an air bleed passageway 40 of a carburetor is controlled by a control device 64 depending on the output from an oxygen concentration sensor 56 provided to an exhaust system in such a way that a set air fuel ratio can be obtained. The air bleed passageway 40 includes a main air bleed passageway 44 and an auxiliary air bleed passageway 42, and an adjusting valve 52 containing thermowax 50 is provided to the auxiliary passageway. At the time of low engine temperature, the valve 52 is closed for making the air bleed quantity small so as to increase fuel in supply whereby an air fuel ratio control is assumed by the solenoid valve 48. At the time of high engine temperature, the valve 52 is opened for letting the air fuel ratio to be conditioned to a lean state so as to assume a feedback control by the solenoid valve 48.
