PURPOSE: To provide a vascularization-activating substance stimulating the multiplication of vascular endothelial cells but hardly stimulating the multiplication of other cells by containing the culture supernatant of human ovarian tumor cells or established cells thereof.
CONSTITUTION: Human ovarian tumor cells or established cells thereof (FERM BP-2310) are adhered to beads (preferably gelatin micro carrier beads) preferably having an average outer diameter of 150-250μm and cultured by a onspending culture method, followed by separating a vascularization-activating substance having a vascular endothelial cell multiplication activity but substantially not having a smooth muscle cell multiplication activity and/or fibroblast cell multiplication activity from the culture supernatant. The deviation of the bead diameters within a region of ±20 to ±30μm based on the average diameter improves the adhesion of the cells to the beads to accelerate the multiplication of the cells and the secretion of the active substance. The ratio of the beads to the number of the cells is preferably 7×107 to 1.5×108 cells part the bead swollen volume of 5±1ml.
