PURPOSE: To increase the efficiency of expansion processing of the vector character processor which sequentially expands the vector font of character information to be displayed and printed as to an information equipment which is applied with the vector font.

CONSTITUTION: The vector character processor is equipped with an interface means 11 which stores characters inputted in dot form and supplies them to an output device for displaying or printing the characters, a processing means 13 which generates the vector font representing the individual characters constituting the character string to be displayed or printed, an expanding means 15 which performs expansion into the vector font generated by the processing means 13 and outputs the characters in dot form, and a read control means 17 which sequentially inputs the characters outputted by the expanding means 15 and supplies them to the interface means 11.
