To load/unload vehicles onto/from a freight car in a short time.

A platform 5 allowing the vehicles 3 to travel thereon is provided in parallel with the stop position of a car-train I. A special platform 9 including a rail 19 extending along the car-train I, and a truck 9a travelable on the rail 19, is provided between the platform 5 and the stop position of the car-train I. Trays 14 for loading the vehicles 3 are provided at the freight car 1 of the car-train I, and a tray transfer apparatus 21 is provided for moving the tray 14 between the freight car 1 and the truck 9a. The vehicle 3 traveling on the platform 5 is driven into the tray 14 moved on the truck 9a, and stopped, and then the tray 14 is loaded onto the freight car 1, or the tray 14 on the freight car 1 is moved on the truck 9a, and then the vehicle 3 on the tray 14 is allowed to travel to the platform 5 and unloaded, thus carrying out loading/unloading of the vehicle 3 onto/from the freight car 1 in a short time.
