To provide an on-vehicle audio apparatus which can compensate an audio signal for natural noise in a cabin in terms of audibility upon consideration of a silencing amount of noise in the cabin by an active noise controller even when a vehicle speed interlocking-type equalizer and the active noise controller are operated simultaneously.
The on-vehicle audio apparatus includes a vehicle speed interlocking-type equalizer 101 which changes characteristics of an audio signal in accordance with vehicle speed, an active noise controller 102 which reduces noise in the cabin by generating a noise reduction signal from a reference signal highly correlated with the noise in the cabin, and a silencing noise estimator 103. The silencing noise estimator 103 estimates a reduction amount of the noise in the cabin from an output signal of the active noise controller 102 and changes the characteristics of the vehicle speed interlocking-type equalizer based on information thereof.
