When automatic stop conditions of the engine and learning executing conditions of the controlled variables of the engine during idling stop are both established (S100-S130), the automatic stop of the engine is executed when a preset time passes in the state of establishing the predetermined automatic stop conditions even in incomplete learning (S160, S170). However, when the learning history of the controlled variables is cleared out and not stored by battery clear-out, the automatic stop of the engine is prohibited until the learning is completed (S150). Thus, the idling stop control during idling stop is achieved compatibly with the learning of the controlled variables and a sense of incongruity given to a driver due to no execution of idling stop is suppressed.
