Abstract:
To perform failure determination of a braking actuator which controls hydraulic pressure in a wheel cylinder with use of upstream hydraulic pressure.SOLUTION: A vehicle braking device comprises: a braking actuator which controls hydraulic pressure in a wheel cylinder; a hydraulic pressure generator that is connected with the braking actuator via a hydraulic pressure flow passage, and which can perform the increase and retention of upstream hydraulic pressure supplied to the braking actuator via the hydraulic pressure flow passage; a hydraulic pressure sensor which detects the upstream hydraulic pressure; and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit performs: upstream hydraulic pressure retention treatment for controlling the hydraulic pressure generator so as to enhance and retain the upstream hydraulic pressure; downstream pressurizing treatment for controlling the braking actuator so as for operating fluid to be supplied to the wheel cylinder via the hydraulic pressure flow passage in the state of having the upstream hydraulic pressure retained; and failure determination treatment for determining that failure has occurred to the braking actuator when the upstream hydraulic pressure does not fall below a determination threshold following performance of the downstream pressurizing treatment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
