Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle collision detection device capable of detecting the probability of a collision with a heavy object and appropriately controlling lift-up of a hood.SOLUTION: A vehicle collision detection device 1 is configured to input a pre-crash signal output from a pre-crash system 100 mounted in a vehicle to a pedestrian protection device ECU 7 if a collision with a heavy object is inevitable. If the pedestrian protection device ECU 7 determines the collision is a collision with a pedestrian (S2: Yes) and the pre-crash signal is not input to the pedestrian protection device ECU 7 from the pre-crash system (S3: No), the pedestrian protection device ECU 7 transmits a command to lift up a hood 13 to a hood lift-up device 3 (S4). If the pre-crash signal is input (S3: Yes), the pedestrian protection device ECU 7 prohibits the hood lift-up device 3 from lifting up the hood 13.
