The vehicle collision preventing system comprises a vehicle A for transmitting collision risk information when suddenly breaked or parked, and a vehicle collision preventing device 100 mounted on a vehicle B travelling following the vehicle A. The vehicle collision preventing device 100 has a GPS device 5 for detecting the current position of the vehicle, a brake detecting part 6 for detecting braking operation, a vehicle speed detecting part 7 for detecting a vehicle speed, a transmitting/receiving part 13, a seat belt winding control part 14 for controlling the winding of a seat belt, a braking force control part 15 for controlling braking force, and a control circuit 8. The vehicle A transmits collision risk information when suddenly braked or parked, while the vehicle B receives the collision risk information and its braking force and seat belt winding are controlled when the presence of the collision risk is determined.
