To notify a passenger in an electric vehicle of a fact that a residual travel distance decreases and reason why the residual travel distance has decreased when the residual travel distance has suddenly decreased.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device includes a battery control part, a travel control part, and a notification part. The battery control part acquires status information of a battery, calculates residual energy of the battery, and determines whether the battery energy is excessively consumed. The travel control part acquires the residual energy and route information, calculates a residual travel distance, and determines a fuel consumption deterioration section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
