To make more suitable lane change.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device comprises: a recognition part which recognizes, when the vehicle plans to make lane change, the position and speed of the other vehicle traveling in a lane at a movement destination; a determination part which determines, based upon information regarding the position and speed of the other vehicle recognized by the recognition part, a travel pattern including acceleration, deceleration and sideway movement of the vehicle associated with the lane change; and a control part which controls, based upon the travel pattern determined by the determination part, the acceleration, deceleration, and sideway movement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
