Abstract:

To provide a vehicle control device capable of recovering regenerative energy with high efficiency even when the vehicle stops in the middle of a falling gradient road.

The vehicle control device, for drive-controlling an apparatus which consumes energy in the vehicle before traveling on the falling gradient road according to a regenerative energy amount predicted from gradient road information, includes: a stop information acquisition means for acquiring stop information on the vehicle in the middle of the falling gradient road; and a control means for deciding electrical energy consumed by a battery before traveling the falling gradient road based on at least either of a regenerative energy amount predicted to be recoverable according to the vehicle stop in the middle of the falling gradient road and an energy amount predicted to be consumed by the vehicle during stop time in the middle of the falling gradient road, when it is determined that the vehicle will stop in the middle of the falling gradient road based on the stop information, and for drive-controlling the apparatus of the vehicle so that the electric energy will be consumed.
