Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate detection of the approach of a user possessing a portable machine, while reducing power consumption.SOLUTION: A vehicle controller 10 includes, an UHF reception unit 7 for receiving a response signal returned from a portable machine 20, and a control unit 1 foe permitting the operation of a welcome light 11 for greeting the user possessing the portable machine 20 to a vehicle, in response to the reception state of the response signal by the UHF reception unit 7. The control unit 1 determines whether or not preset conditions are satisfied, when the outdoor LF transmission units 4-6 are transmitting the first response request signal intermittently at a predetermined period, and when the conditions are satisfied, the outdoor LF transmission units 4-6 transmit a second response request signal in place of the first response request signal, and stops transmission of the second response request signal, depending on the presence or absence of reception of the response signal, returned from the portable machine 20 in response to the second response request signal, by the UHF reception unit 7, before suppressing transmission of the first response request signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
