Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a hybrid vehicle in a manner that appropriately improves fuel efficiency.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device comprises: calculation means which calculates a charging cost F representing fuel consumption J of an internal combustion engine required for storing unit electric power of electric power a stored in a secondary battery and an engine cost H representing the fuel consumption of the internal combustion engine required for a hybrid vehicle to output unit travel output using power of the internal combustion engine without using the power of a rotating electrical machine; control means which controls the hybrid vehicle in a manner that selects an electric operation mode as a travel mode when the charging cost is lower than the engine cost or an engine mode as the travel mode when the charging cost is higher than the engine cost; and adjustment means which adjusts the charging cost calculated by the calculation means on the basis of regenerative power r stored in the secondary battery through regenerative power generation of the rotating electrical machine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
