Abstract:
To provide a vehicle control device capable of preventing a deterioration of a battery while consuming a larger amount of power, in control forcibly discharging the battery when regenerative braking is not used during traveling on a downhill road.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device is mounted with a motor that is driven by the power of a battery 8 and charges the battery 8 during regenerative braking of a vehicle. The vehicle control device includes a PTC heater 9 driven by the power of the battery 8, an evaporator 11 driven by the power of the battery 8, and a circulating direction control portion 15 that controls a circulating direction of a heat medium in a first circulating direction D1 in which the PTC heater 9 is on the upstream side of the battery 8, in a heat medium circulation circuit 30 circulating the heat medium between the PTC heater 9 and the evaporator 11. When regenerative braking of the vehicle is required and the battery 8 cannot be charged, the PTC heater 9 and the evaporator 11 are driven, and the circulating direction control portion 15 controls the circulating direction to a second circulating direction D2 opposite to the first circulating direction D1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
