Abstract:
To provide a vehicle control device capable of generating pedal reaction force in accordance with travel intention of a driver when controlling the pedal reaction force with the same in a footrest state during follow-up control.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device: has a reaction force mechanism generating and varying reaction force against pedal pressure; is adapted to cause a pedal to function as a footrest while a vehicle is in a predetermined state; and enables an own vehicle to travel with a predetermined distance from a preceding vehicle maintained. When determining that the own vehicle is stopped with the pedal in a footrest state, the vehicle control device also determines whether or not the pedal is pressed down from a pedal position with the own vehicle stopped to a predetermined position and increases pedal reaction force when determining that the pedal is pressed down to the predetermined position (Steps S3 to S4).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
