Abstract:
To shorten a period when an electric pump attached to a brake booster is operated to the extent possible.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device is to control a vehicle which comprises an internal combustion engine, a brake booster which accumulates intake negative pressure generated downstream of a throttle valve in an intake passage of the internal combustion engine and boosts brake tread force using negative pressure, an electric pump supplying the negative pressure to the brake booster, and an auxiliary machine operated through getting supply of engine torque from the internal combustion engine. When the negative pressure accumulated in the brake booster is lower than a threshold, the vehicle control device disconnects a clutch interposed between the internal combustion engine and the auxiliary machine and supplies the intake negative pressure to the brake booster with an opening of the throttle valve reduced. Also, under the condition that a driver pushes a brake pedal and then reduces tread force on the pedal or removes a foot from the pedal, the vehicle control device disconnects the clutch interposed between the internal combustion engine and the auxiliary machine and supplies the intake negative pressure to the brake booster with the opening of the throttle valve reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
